CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by National Cattlemen's Foundation
In 1989, the CME Group launched the Beef Industry Scholarship via the Live Cattle Futures Contract. The National Cattlemen’s Foundation, in partnership with the CME Group, remains dedicated to the future of the cattle industry, consistently acknowledging and supporting exceptional young individuals within the beef sector. This tradition is still upheld today, with ten scholarships of $1,500 each being awarded annually to students aiming for careers in the beef industry.
Applicable fields of study encompass education, communications, production, research, or any other sector associated with the beef industry. The objective of this program is to pinpoint and foster gifted and insightful students who have the potential to become leaders in the industry.
The application process will commence on Oct. 1.
Eligibility Requirements
APPLICANTS MUST:
- Be a high school senior on the verge of graduation or a full-time undergraduate student who will be attending a two- or four-year institution for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Have shown a dedication to a career in the beef industry through coursework, internships, or personal experiences.
- Submit a Letter of Intent, a one-page document outlining your future career aspirations in the beef industry.
- Compose an original essay of 750 words or fewer, discussing a challenge facing the beef industry and proposing a solution(s).
- Supply two Letters of Recommendation from current or past teachers or industry professionals.
The applicant themselves or their family must be a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. For further details on membership, please click here.
