Leaders Save Lives Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by American Red Cross
To be eligible for the Leaders Save Lives Program by the American Red Cross, each Blood Program Leader must fulfill the following criteria:
1. They must be currently attending high school, college, university, technical school, trade school, or community college.
2. They must organize an American Red Cross blood drive in the United States, scheduled between May 26 and September 1, 2025. The following conditions apply:
- The student cannot take over an existing blood drive, but they can take over an existing Leaders Save Lives blood drive from the previous Blood Program Leader.
- Donor centers can only be used as blood drive locations if the drive is held outside of regular operating hours.
- Regularly scheduled mobile operations cannot be used as blood drive locations.
- A school can be used as a blood drive location only if the school is not in session.
- There can only be one Blood Program Leader per blood drive. The rewards of the program will not be divided among multiple Blood Program Leaders. The student Blood Program Leader must be the primary contact in the Red Cross record system.
- The program cannot be combined with the American Red Cross Sickle Cell Fighter High School Scholarship Program, High School Scholarship Program, or Community Club Program.
- Blood units collected from affiliated Leaders Save Lives blood drives will not contribute to any other Red Cross scholarship program, including the Sickle Cell Fighter High School Scholarship Program and High School Scholarship Program.
3. The blood drive must gather at least 25 productive units of blood. The following conditions apply:
- The results will be calculated from a single blood drive operation.
- Multiple operations cannot be combined.
4. Each Leaders Save Lives Blood Drive must be internally identified as a Leaders Save Lives blood drive by the Red Cross representative at the drive level in the record system.
