Samuel Huntington Public Service Award
Scholarship Sponsored by Samuel Huntington Fund
The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award offers a $30,000 grant to college seniors who are graduating, enabling them to undertake public service activities anywhere globally. This award provides an opportunity for recipients to spend a year in a significant public service role before moving on to graduate school or starting their professional careers.
Who Can Apply?
Graduating students from all accredited U.S. colleges are welcome to apply by January 9, 2026.
Selection Criteria
The award will be granted based on the merit of the proposal, academic performance, and other personal accomplishments. Finalists will be interviewed personally before the final selection of the award recipient(s).
Award Details
The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award offers $30,000 for a one-year public service project. Half of the amount ($15,000) is given at the project's commencement, and the remaining $15,000 is awarded upon receiving a progress report after six months.
Proposal Submission
Students are urged to create their own proposals for public service, either in the U.S. or overseas. The proposal can include any activity that contributes to the public welfare. It can be carried out individually or through established public service organizations such as charitable, religious, educational, or governmental entities. For more information, please refer to our FAQs.
The safety of our award recipients and beneficiaries is our top priority. Therefore, the committee is ready to provide some flexibility in proposal details (timing, travel, costs, etc.) to minimize any safety hazards.
