The Impact Scholarship supports emerging life scientists who demonstrate creativity, clear communication, and potential for lasting contributions to the field. It is administered by antibodies-online in partnership with Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. and is part of the Joy Cappel Scholars Network, a program that connects and supports students at multiple stages of their development. The award emphasizes impactful ideas expressed through research, community engagement, or novel ways of explaining science.

Eligibility & Requirements
The scholarship is open to students who are high school seniors, undergraduates, or graduate students accepted or enrolled at a U.S. college or university for the upcoming term. Applicants must intend to major in Life Sciences or a closely related field. Entries include a short video of about 30 seconds that addresses a specific prompt about a moment that changed the applicant's view of science.

Video Prompt: In roughly 30 seconds, describe a real moment—in the lab, classroom, or daily life—that changed how you think about science. Explain what happened and what you learned.

Award Value & Selection
Each year two students in the United States are awarded a one-thousand-dollar stipend through the Impact Scholarship. Recipients are selected based on their ability to demonstrate potential for positive, lasting impact on the life sciences through research, outreach, or science communication. Winners are notified after the selection process and the award payment is issued to the recipient's university.
Award Value: Two awards of $1,000 each are granted annually to qualifying students in the United States.
Selection: Winners are chosen based on demonstrated potential to positively impact the life sciences and the quality of their video submission; notification follows selection and payment is sent to the university listed in the application.

Application Timeline
Applications are accepted twice per year with firm deadlines on February 3 and August 3. Winners are selected and notified within two weeks after each deadline. After notification, the scholarship check is processed and sent directly to the university identified in the application.
