Maryland State Fair Scholarships

Scholarship Sponsored by Maryland State Fair

Introduction
The Maryland State Fair is awarding three $2,000 scholarships to Maryland youth:

- A $2,000 F. Grove Miller Memorial Scholarship for Maryland residents who are enrolled in a four-year college, other postsecondary institution, or a trade school.
- A $2,000 Marlin K. Hoff Memorial Scholarship for Maryland youth who have carried a dairy project at the Maryland State Fair and intend to pursue a certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree.
- A $2,000 Kinsley Construction Scholarship for Maryland students currently working toward a postsecondary degree in pre‑veterinary medicine or large animal veterinary medicine.

Selection will be based on Fair participation, academic performance, leadership, career goals, and demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be permanent Maryland residents who participated in the 2025 Maryland State Fair or an earlier year.
- Candidates must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a four‑year college, another postsecondary college, or a trade school. Proof of enrollment must be submitted to the Maryland State Fair Office by August 1 of the academic year the scholarship is awarded.
- These scholarships are open to students entering freshman through senior years of college.
- Applicants may submit applications for all three scholarships, but a candidate may receive only one (1) Maryland State Fair scholarship in the same year.
- Over time, a student may receive up to two (2) Maryland State Fair–sponsored scholarships (for example: two F. Grove Miller awards or one F. Grove Miller and one Marlin K. Hoff), but not more than one award in a single year.
- Each scholarship covers one academic year only.
- Applicants should review each scholarship’s specific eligibility requirements before applying.

Award Presentations (2026)
- The F. Grove Miller Scholarship and the Kinsley Construction Scholarship will be presented at the Maryland 4‑H/FFA Judging Awards Program on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Cow Palace.
- The Marlin K. Hoff Scholarship will be presented at the Maryland State Fair Holstein Futurity on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Cow Palace.

- Access the scholarship application forms via the links provided on the Maryland State Fair website (see links below).
- Submit your completed application and all requested supporting documents by 11:59 PM on June 1, 2026 for each scholarship you apply for (F. Grove Miller, Marlin K. Hoff, and Kinsley Construction).
