FOARE Scholarships

INTRODUCTION
FOARE supports research and educational programs vital to the future of the out-of-home (OOH) industry by awarding scholarships each year to qualified students. Since 2001, FOARE has granted more than $663,000 in scholarships to over 200 students, the majority of whom have direct ties to the OOH sector.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
For 2026 FOARE will distribute a total of twelve $5,000 scholarships: five general student scholarships plus seven named awards. The named scholarships are:
- The Allman Family Business Development, Marketing, and Sales Scholarship Endowment
- The Eric M. Rubin Scholarship
- The Joseph Zukin Jr. Educational Opportunity Scholarship
- The Nancy Fletcher Leadership Scholarship
- The Reagan Family Scholarship
- The Ruth Segal Scholarship
- The Vern and Elaine Clark OOH Industry Champion Scholarship
APPLICATION DEADLINE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All application materials must be received by 8:00 PM EDT on May 15, 2026.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Complete every item on the application form.
- Provide a high school or college transcript (official or unofficial).
- Submit a one-page, double-spaced essay describing career goals or explaining why you deserve a FOARE scholarship.
- Include a summary of community service and extracurricular involvement.
Additional requirements for specific named scholarships are listed below. Note: false or misleading information will result in disqualification.
ADDITIONAL ESSAYS / DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY SCHOLARSHIP
- Allman Family Business Development, Marketing, and Sales Scholarship Endowment: In addition to the standard one-page essay, submit an extra essay focused on business development and your career objectives (see essay requirements).
- Nancy Fletcher Leadership Scholarship: Add an essay that identifies a woman you admire (not a family member) and explains why (see essay requirements).
- Vern and Elaine Clark OOH Industry Champion Scholarship: Provide an additional essay about your community service (see essay requirements).
- Ruth Segal Scholarship: Include an additional essay addressing diversity training (see essay requirements).
- Joseph Zukin Jr. Educational Opportunity Scholarship: Attach a copy of your FAFSA, an extra essay describing the most important moment in your life and why it matters (see essay requirements), and a written reference.
- Eric M. Rubin Scholarship: Submit an additional essay describing a challenge, disappointment, or setback you have experienced and what you learned from it (see essay requirements).
- Reagan Family Scholarship Endowment: Applicants must complete a separate application available at The Reagan Family Scholarship Endowment.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
- Current undergraduate or graduate students;
- High school seniors who have been accepted to an undergraduate program;
- Students pursuing an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree, or enrolled in a technical/trade program;
- Individuals who have finished an undergraduate degree and been accepted into a Master’s or Doctoral program.
