NYSACAC Scholarship

Overview
Founded in 2011, the NYSACAC Scholarship supports the organization’s goal of assisting students as they transition to postsecondary education and expanding access to college. Each year NYSACAC awards one-time scholarships of $500–$1,000 to help selected students pursue higher education.
Important dates
- Applications accepted: April 1, 2026 through May 15, 2026.
- Scholarship winners will be informed by June 30, 2026.
Who may be nominated
Candidates must satisfy every item on the following list to be considered for the NYSACAC Scholarship:
- A current NYSACAC member must submit the nomination using the required nomination form.
- The nominee must live in New York State.
- The nominee must have, or will have, one of the following credentials from within New York State:
- Graduation from a New York State public or private secondary school or college; or
- Completion of a New York State home-school program; or
- Receipt of a GED.
- The nominee must complete the 2026 NYSACAC Scholarship essay: a personal statement of no more than 500 words describing how they have overcome obstacles or achieved success with limited resources.
- The nominee must plan to begin or transfer into an undergraduate program in Fall 2026 at either a NYSACAC member college/university or any institution located in New York State. Scholarship awardees will be required to submit proof of matriculation.
Award details
Scholarships are one-time payments between $500 and $1,000, intended to assist recipients as they begin their college studies.
