Wisconsin Towns Association Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Wisconsin Towns Association
The Wisconsin Towns Association, together with Scott Construction, Inc., and Rural Mutual Insurance Company, invites Wisconsin’s graduating high school seniors to enter the 2026 WTA Scholarship Contest. Ten $1,500 scholarships are available; eligible students may compete by submitting an original essay responding to this year’s question.
Eligibility
- Must be a Wisconsin resident and a 2026 graduate of a Wisconsin public or private high school.
- Must plan to enroll at a Wisconsin public or private college or university. Proof of enrollment at a Wisconsin institution will be required before scholarship funds are released.
Essay evaluation and timeline
- Essays will be evaluated independently and judged solely on their response to the 2026 question. Judges will consider originality and overall writing quality; submissions must use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Judging will be completed by August 10, 2026.
- Scholarship recipients will be announced by August 24, 2026. Only the students selected to receive awards will be contacted.
Scholarship awards
- Ten scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to the top 10 applicants based on essay scores.
- Eight (8) awards go to the eight applicants with the highest overall essay rankings.
- Two (2) awards are reserved for the two highest-ranking applicants who live in a town or village insured by Rural Mutual Insurance Company (insured as of May 1, 2026).
- Applicants do not need to determine whether their town is insured; this will be verified by the organizers.
