Application period
- Applications are accepted annually from November 1 through April 30. (The application form may be downloaded at any time.)
Award summary
- The Elaine Chapin family has established this scholarship to award several scholarships each academic year, each worth up to $1,000. Selected students will be notified prior to June 1. Disbursement to the recipient’s school requires submission of proof of enrollment and proof of residency.
Who may apply
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school in the United States.
- Candidates must be registered for at least 12 credit hours per semester in coursework that leads to a degree, license, or certificate.
Selection criteria
- Recipients will be chosen based on demonstrated financial need, academic performance, and/or the extent to which multiple sclerosis has affected the applicant’s life.
Residency requirement
- Applicants must live within a 300-mile radius of the scholarship office in St. Louis. Proof of residency will be required and verified for students selected to receive an award.
